How to Use The Forge Calculator

Step 1: Select Your Ores

Choose up to 4 different ore types from the ore selection grid. Click on any ore to add it to your crafting mix. Each ore has a multiplier value that affects the final stats of your forged item.

Step 2: Choose Weapon or Armor Mode

Toggle between Weapon and Armor modes to see the crafting chances for different item types. The calculator will show you the probability of getting each weapon class or armor piece based on your total ore count.

Step 3: View Your Results

The calculator displays your predicted forged item, success chance, average multiplier, estimated damage (for weapons) or health bonus (for armor), and active traits based on your ore composition.

Understanding Traits

Certain ores like Obsidian, Rivalite, Uranium, Mythril, Eye Ore, Fireite, Magmaite, Lightite, Demonite, and Darkryte provide special traits when they make up at least 10% of your mix. The trait strength scales with the percentage of that ore in your composition.

Best Practices for The Forge

Optimize Your Ore Mix: Use the calculator to experiment with different ore combinations before crafting. Aim for ore counts that give you the highest chance of getting your desired weapon or armor class.

Maximize Trait Benefits: Include trait ores (Obsidian, Rivalite, Eye Ore, etc.) at 10% or more to activate their special effects. Higher percentages (20-30%+) provide stronger trait bonuses.

Balance Multiplier and Traits: While higher multiplier ores give better base stats, don't ignore trait ores. A well-balanced mix of high-multiplier ores and trait ores often produces the best results.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many ores can I use in The Forge?

You can use a minimum of 3 ores and up to 50 ores for weapons, or up to 37 ores for armor. You can select up to 4 different ore types in a single craft.

What determines which weapon or armor I get?

The total number of ores you use determines the probability of getting each weapon or armor class. Higher ore counts generally favor heavier weapons and armor pieces.

How do ore multipliers work?

Each ore has a multiplier value (e.g., 2.35x for Obsidian, 4.00x for Eye Ore). The average multiplier of your mix affects the final stats of your forged item. Higher multipliers result in stronger items.

When do traits activate?

Traits activate when a trait ore makes up at least 10% of your total ore mix. The trait strength scales based on the percentage: 10-19% gives minimum effect, 20-29% gives good effect, and 30%+ gives optimal effect.
